steve negrón narrative painting
steve negrón's paintings express desires, fears, and mischievous intentions. once a mild-mannered college administrator, he retired his desk, packed his family, paints, and fiddle, and impulsively moved to the east coast of italy in december of 2022. he is still trying to figure out what that was all about and, once he learns the language, hopes to find a community of creatives with which to be a part.
negrón was the featured artist in the october 2012 edition of North Shore art*throb magazine and was selected to be the first featured artist of the Downtown Lynn Cultural District website in 2013.
an art educator and award winning artist, negrón has enjoyed representation by Hudson Gallery in gloucester, Chameleon Gallery in newburyport, and Gaga Gallery in swampscott. he has shown his paintings in numerous exhibitions in the northeast including the galleries at the Marblehead Arts Association, Salem Art Association and Salem Art Gallery, School of the Museum of Fine Art in boston, Montserrat College of Art, in beverly, Parsons School of Design in new york, the Lynn Museum and LynnArts, Hall Haskell House in ipswich, Gaga Gallery, the Elise Mankes Gallery in marblehead, and the Gulu-Gulu Café in salem.
